Creation vs. Big Bang & Evolution

In February 2014, Bill Nye (‘the Science guy’) and Ken Ham debated for about two hours on on the question “is Creation a viable Model of Origins?’ Neither these two brilliant minds or there two hour debate can begin to significantly represent the sides and arguments that both Christians and non-Christians offer concerning this subject matter. However, i do appreciate Ken Ham for his ‘young earth’ vs. ‘theistic evolution,’ ‘Gap creationists,’ and/or ‘old earth’ creationism (as advocated by some like C. Scofield, Hugh Ross, Jack Hayford, John Ankerberg or Pat Robertson).

During the debate Bill Nye stated, ‘There are billions of stars. Mr. Ham, how could there be billions of stars more distant than 6,000 years if the world’s only 6,000 years old?’ Actually, according to the orthodox Jews 2016 is year 5776 from the creation of Adam. Bishop James Ussher, who most Christian Universities follow – both because he was reputable and due to the fact that it takes about a 1,000 hours to really research such things even with Google and fact checking, etc. – stated in his ‘Annals of the World... (c.1650)’ that Adam was created in 4004 BC. Saint Bede (early 700s) found it to be about 3952 BC; and Sir Isaac Newton (early 1700s), estimated the date to be c. 4000 BC.

So Nye made his statement and Ham answered, ‘The bible is the word of God. I admit that that’s where I start from...’ Nye responds, ‘We would just need one piece of evidence…’ Three months after the debate, Pat Robertson answered the press (May 13, 2014), ‘You have to be deaf, dumb and blind to think that this Earth that we live in only has 6,000 years of existence…’ Where is Bede, Ussher and Newton when you need them? Well i for sure am dumb in the sense that i never took a chemistry class; and i am deaf to rash comments without ‘one piece of evidence,’ and blind to bias facts, but i will stand with Reason and Wisdom and Truth. So i must begin with two questions, two witnesses and two statements to my Christian brothers and sisters.

Do you believe that “God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible…” (Nicene Creed – 325 AD; kinda required for salvation through Jesus Christ – creed – from Latin ‘believe’ – from Apostle’s Creed) created Adam or the first man from the ‘dust of the ground‘ and or gave him ‘the breath of life (Gen. 2:7)?’ If so, considering that God spoke forests into existence and not seeds; and mountains, not protons, electrons and neutrons of dust alone; then how old was Adam when created – was he an embryo or more like 30 years old according to certain Jewish mid-rash?

The witness Job records that “the Lord answered him out of the whirlwind, and said: ‘Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? …Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? …(where were you) when the morning stars (angels) sang together (before the fall)… can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, or loose the belt of Orion? …Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? (Job 38)”

The second witness, none less than the Apostle Peter: “Beloved… be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets (see Paul’s Rom. 1:1 and Heb. 1:1), and of …us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come IN THE LAST DAYS, walking according to their own lusts (including pride and ambitions), and saying, ‘where is the promise of His coming (Matt. 24:29-)? For since the fathers fell asleep (died), all things continue as they were FROM THE BEGINNING OF CREATION.’ For this they willfully FORGET: THAT by the WORD OF GOD the HEAVENS WERE OF OLD, and the earth standing out of the water... (expanse, see Gen.1; 2 Peter 3).” There it is – ‘by the spoken word of God’ things were created – spoken in existence – instantly aged (more on that later in this or other pages).

We have two great problems – one even most nominal (see William Wilberforce about ‘nominal Christians’) ‘Christians’ do not believe in the very basis fundamental teachings/doctrines of the Holy Scriptures – or that they were ‘inspired by God.’ Thus, many perish for lack of knowledge; and second, there are those ‘forever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth (2 Tim. 3:7).’ Nevertheless, over the next few weeks if the Lord allows it, i will ‘give a defense’ for Creationism versus the Evolution and Big Bang theories; and provide a multitude of ‘pieces of evidence.’
