Paul foretold us that concerning ‘the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ… let no one deceive you by any means: for THAT DAY shall not come, except there comes a falling away (falling away – KJV; apostasy – NASB; rebellion – NIV; departynge – Tyndale) first, and that man of sin is revealed (2 Thes. 2:1-3);’ who is the Antichrist. The Orthodox Jewish (Judeo-Christian) Bible says before the return of Jesus ‘the Merid (Rebellion… the [Anti-Moshiach] Shmad Betrayal Defection of Apostasy… and the Apocalypse…’ must occur.
The gospel has been ‘preached to the ends of the world (Matt. 24:14);’ yet, the Lord Jesus also prophesied that before He returned, the moral condition of the world would be ‘as it was in the days of Noah… people eating and drinking, marrying…and they were oblivious; they did not understand (perceive) what was going to happen until the flood came (Matt. 24:37-39).’ In the days of Noah, ‘mankind multiplied on the face of the earth… The Nephilim (fallen ones/angels) were on the earth… and God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil (wicked) continually (Gen. 6:5-7).’
‘MORAL’
Moral is a French word ‘relating to manners,’ which is derived from Latin (‘mos.’ ‘mores’); it is associated which character (‘ethos’), ethics (moral philosophy), conscience (with knowledge), and acceptable customs. Morals deal with right (good, righteousness) and wrong (sin); and though all mankind has received a conscious, who determines what is right and wrong? If there is a moral law or if morals existence then it is God that ultimately defines and teaches its meanings; yet, there are certain actions that are so wrong, that even the most novice of examiners can tell. But as societies and their customs change, many actions become much more difficult to see clearly as strictly a right or wrong.
The wise philosopher in Proverbs said, ‘there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death (Prov. 14:12).’ The point is that many people perceive an action as being acceptable because of their ignorance or deception, when it may be wrong, sinful and even evil. For example, many homosexuals may believe that their relationship is built on love and their sexual acts within that relationship should be accepted as normal – and thus, they desire to adopt children and receive equal recognition and rights as male and female married couples do. Yet, God see theirs actions as ‘abominations’ and their relationship as rebellion and willful sinning against His commands, way and will.
Because certain people resist the truth and seek a carefree society, they often do not see the true state of the nation. Though I am sure many will not agree that all the following indicators point to the state of morality or immorality in a nation; nevertheless, they do reveal the nature and direction of the country, its cultures and societies.
